There have been many improvements to cars over the years. People rely upon their cars in order to live their daily lives. People drive to work, to school, to run errands, go to the store to buy groceries and many other reasons.
This means that, as many people in the Atlanta area know, there are many cars on the roads every day. Due to the volume of cars on the road and the fact that humans make mistakes, there are also many car wrecks as well. Some are much more serious than others, but every accident can be a big issue for the owner of the car.
In 2015, there were 385,221 car crashes in Georgia, which was approximately 50,000 more crashes than occurred in 2014. In those car crashes, 19,405 people suffered serious injuries and there were 1,430 fatalities, 104 of which occurred in Fulton County. Both of those numbers were up from the five-year average. The five-year average for serious injuries is 16,576 and 1,238 for fatalities.
Any accident can cause problems, but the car wrecks which result in serious injuries and fatalities can be very devastating for the victims and their families. Even if people survive with serious injuries, their lives may never be the same afterwards. They may require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation and still never recover fully. They also may be unable to work for a long period of time or even the rest of their lives.
There are many victims of car wrecks in Georgia each year. These victims can be left in very difficult situations after the car wreck. However, they may be entitled to compensation for their damages. If the crash was caused by the negligence of another driver, that driver may need to pay for the victim’s damages.
