Stepladders Sold at Home Depot Recalled Due to Fall Risk

IN THE NEWS: On December 11, 2012 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall by Wing Enterprises of the Switch-it Stepladder/Stepstools sold exclusively at the Home Depot due to fall hazards associated with the product. The announcement notes that when the ladder is fully extended, the side rails can separate from the product causing the user to fall. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Wing Enterprises has received nine reports of the ladder becoming unstable and causing the user to fall and sustain injuries.
